We’ve learnt that electricity passes along conductive materials like metal and we’ve learnt how to construct a simple circuit using a battery, wires and a bulb.

This week we’ve learnt how to make a simple switch for our circuit out of some card, a paper clip and some brass pins.

The wires connect to the bottom of the pins and when the paper clip is moved to touch both pins, the circuit is complete. Electricity can now flow through the circuit and the bulb will light up!

Orienteering

This week we were doing mapping outside in the school playground  and on the grass.  We had to run to cones that were named after countries. We were in one big group. We were split into pairs to find different places in the playground. We had to use maps and set it to North. Our teacher was called Eion. Written by Primary 5

P3’s trip to Dynamic Earth

Yesterday P3 had a great day out at Dynamic Earth. We went there to learn about the importance of recycling our rubbish. We also learnt how to reduce the amount of rubbish we produce and how we can reuse it!

We watched a great video in the Show Dome about how the universe started and then did a tour learning about how the Earth was created.

On the bus we even managed to practice some of our nativity songs!
