Paper Bridge Building

As part of our transport topic, P5/6 have spent some time designing and testing bridges made of paper. Their design criteria was that they had:

-4 A4 sheets of paper.

-1m of selotape.

-Glue.

-The bridge had to be self-supporting.

-The bridge couldn’t be taped to the table.

-It had to span a gap of 40cm.

After discussion and coming up with some inital designs, the children constructed their bridges and tested them.

Chloe won the compeition with her bridge holding an impressive 130g. Chloe, a career in civil engineering awaits.
